Nicki Parfitt

An outstanding and highly praised film lawyer with over 30 years of experience in delivering pragmatic advice to financiers, sales agents and production companies on all aspects of film production, financing and exploitation. Nicki advises on complex and high-profile productions including (most recently) Bafta and Oscar winners, The Brutalist and The Apprentice.

Nicki specialises in all aspects of film production, financing and sales, representing producers, innovative financiers, industry leading sales agents, government institutions.

Outside of private practice, Nicki has worked extensively in the films sales sector and jointly founded a successful film sales agency. Nicki trained at the city firm Denton Hall and, after qualifying in 1993, spent two years in their media department specialising in publishing and libel law and also acting for a number of film and television production and distribution companies. In 1996, Nicki joined Pearson Television and became Head of Legal and Business Affairs for Pearson Television Productions in continental Europe and Latin America working in multiple jurisdictions to set up local drama productions. In 1998, she was appointed as the Head of Legal and Business Affairs and a Board Director of Portman Entertainment Group, a prominent packager, executive producer and sales agent of international feature films and television drama programming.

Nicki has an MA in mathematics and a BA in law, both from Cambridge University.  She is a member of Women in Film & TV.
