We have been involved in some of the UK’s leading court cases in these areas, however our focus is always on the discrete and commercial resolution of issues, avoiding negative publicity and high expense.

We manage disputes in all areas of the creative sector including intellectual property, breach of confidence, breach of contract, defamation and privacy, director/shareholder and partnership disputes, employment claims, and regulatory compliance and enforcement.

Very few of the disputes we handle are limited to one area of technical expertise, and we pride ourselves on our breadth of experience within the team and our ability to draw on specialist areas of expertise where necessary. Just as important is our lawyers’ deep industry knowledge which enables us to spot issues and develop solutions which might otherwise be missed.

We assess every matter on its merits recommending the most effective and commercial solution for the client. For some disputes, this may mean court proceedings or arbitration, and we are experienced in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, the specialist Intellectual Property and Enterprise Court (IPEC) and the County Court (for lower value claims). We also have experience in various arbitral tribunals and often work closely with overseas counsel on cross-border disputes and jurisdiction matters. We also believe in pursuing settlement by negotiation, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) where possible.
