An experienced television and film lawyer, mainly advising production companies of high-end television dramas on all aspects of development, finance, production and distribution. Known for having a deep understanding of both the British and North American television industries and for working with the American guilds (SAG-AFTRA, WGA, & DGA) in the UK/European markets.
Carrie is a senior member of Lee & Thompson’s Film & Television group, now based in Canada, who acts for some of the most prolific television production companies in the UK. She specialises in all aspects of production, from development through to finance and distribution, and enjoys advising on complex deals with commissioners, co-production partners and leading talent. She is recognised for her expertise and thorough understanding of the American guilds (SAG-AFTRA, WGA & DGA) and for being commercially minded in negotiations.
Carrie is a joint British/Canadian national, and prior to joining Lee & Thompson in 2016, Carrie served as Director, Business & Legal Affairs at one of Canada’s most prominent independent production companies, Muse Entertainment. She also has first-hand experience in the entertainment industry, having worked as professional voice actress for over 20 years.
Carrie has been independently named a Rising Star in her field by Legal 500.
Having studied for her Bachelor of Common & Civil Law and Bachelor of Commerce at McGill University (Montreal, Canada, Carrie was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2012 and New York Bar in 2013.
